My all-time favorite song from Sweet. Yes, the clothes and makeup are f–king ridiculous. But the 1970s glitter rock era produced a lot of great music. If the visuals bother you, just listen to the music. This is crunchy hard rock with pop hooks, not that far removed from the Sex Pistols which came two years later. It’s music you can bang your head and sing along to.
Get your platform shoes and flares on. This is a nice latter-day approximation of crunchy, hooky, foot-stomping Gary Glitter / Sweet style 1970s glitter rock served up by Weezer. Would love to hear Joan Jett do a cover of this. From the 2009 album “Raditude.”
Joan covers Sweet’s 1975 anthem about a girlfriend who can’t make up her mind, if you know what I mean. Sadly, Joan has the same problem with said girlfriend that Sweet’s Brian Connolly did back in the day (probably made worse by the fact that she looks exactly like Carmen Electra). Fortunately for Joan, at 46 (when this was recorded), she still looks and sounds great and can rock the house just as good as she could when she was a teenager with The Runaways.
