Saturday Night Live’s (SNL) spot-on Wes Anderson parody. Favorite bit: New York Times: “You had me at Wes Anderson.” Fangoria: “Da fuh?”

A positively brilliant use of one of the Who’s best songs in the splendidly droll Wes Anderson comedy “Rushmore.”
Next to “Celluloid Heroes,” “Strangers” is my favorite Kinks song. It was the song I always came back to on thier 1970 album “Lola Versus Powerman and the Moneygoround.” The song was effectively used in Wes Anderson’s 2007 film “The Darjeeling Limited” and the YouTube video is a montage of scenes from the film set to this song. A beautiful song.

The opening track of Nico’s “Chelsea Girl” album from 1967, written by Jackson Browne. It also underscored the moving finale of Wes Anderson’s “The Royal Tenenbaums,” specifically the final scene between Ben Stiller’s and Gene Hackman’s characters, a scene that always gets me.
